Howard had a great style and a subtle soft spoken manner --perfect to play Blakeny.
ReplyDeleteStrangely, Baroness Orczy did not originally favour him for the part but she could hardly have been disappointed in the result: especially when he saunters back in to reclaim "his demned fine hat" from Chauvelin, astonished that Blakeney has survived the 'firing squad'. Great film and I hope that youngsters today still watch it but I have my doubts.
