Advice On Dress (as requested) For The TUC March
Anyone going on the TUC march against the UK government cuts, should go dressed in one of the ways suggested by the above photographs. The first is a picture of les sans culottes et les tricoteuses around Madame Guillotine and the second is of the Jarrow marchers. Take your pick and I hope that it pelts with rain because, of course, in these times, cutbacks are a necessary medicine.

Ah I will be singing (even) in the rain stop the cuts and Condems out; cuts in something are necessary but not to the cloth cap; it has the very worst weather you see while the top hat? It kisses ass.
ReplyDeleteCondems save lives. The cloth cap, of course, is the least class-conscious apparel and I certainly agree that it is a thoroughly bad idea to expose napped silk to bad weather; as to its personal habits I really couldn't say!
ReplyDeleteI don't believe it!
ReplyDeleteKeep writing; you are good at it; You found something you love and hold it fast; I keep saying in so many situations hold your nerve; You know?
Have you seen the Grinch; there comes a point in the film when he becomes nice (to his dog) but after a short interlude of licking, that's enough! Yes whilst chomping on broken glass I do wonder, am I only eating because I'm bored. If you havent seen this film (Jim Carey) do try to watch it sometime.
Thank you Anon. I'll get hold of a copy of The Grinch.
ReplyDeleteThose not intent on taking part on the March may well prefer instead to dress like the couple depicted by Thomas Cantrell Dugdale in his painting “The Arrival of the Jarrow Marchers.” (Marcelo)
